(Re) re-working my faith

While re-re-working Jalen's bracelet:

Previously in the week, I worked on a rosary, and all week, I was visited by thoughts surrounding the Christian faith {I'd like to say that I grew up so dramatically rigid and dogmatic in "the church" that I did not view Catholics as Christians. They were not our type of Christia, so I guess that intimidated somebody, and the madness expanded… we'll come back to that.} We watched a movie on Sunday about abuse by Catholic priests in Boston (around the year 2001…but the story was buried under the 9/11 headline).

I put the leftover, muddy, yellowed, misshapen stones into my ritual burn bowl to assist with releasing the energy surrounding them.

  • I also burned the lock of hair I cut out the night before Sister LOIS Evans died. (I couldn't even remember her name when I was doing the ritual, and that'll preach, had she shrank herself so that her husband's ministry could be supported. I'm grateful our Ideas around parenting and career purpose are different in this household*.

I while I was working the stones I listened to Sanctified, which heavily centers on Black Christian Women and their spiritual healing from religious wounds.

I also discussed shadow work a great deal this week in my LIVE for B.A.G., and there has been no more extensive work than decolonizing my faith practices.

  • These are all clear signs that I have/had work to do surrounding foundational issues in modern Christianity.

The overall message:

All is not Lost

*= Also, it's mother's day weekend...after eclipse season. We won't even begin to get into that
